As part of World Restart a Heart day activities, the MRC in conjunction with the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), organised the first basic instructor course on the 12cth October.
The course was directed by Dr Walter Renier, chair of the Belgium Resuscitation Council and member of the Science and Education Committee (SEC) of the ERC. The faculty also included the Chair of the Serbian Resuscitation Council, Dr Violetta Raffay who is also a member of SEC, well as instructors Zoran Fiser from Serbia and Marjolijn de Nijs from Holland, as well as Tanya Esposito, Marthese Bartolo, Anthea Pisani and Simon Attard Montalto from the Maltese Resuscitation Council.
24 candidates successfully completed the pilot one-day the course, and will now be able to complete Basic Instructor Training by instructing under supervision on two BLS courses. We look forward to working with our new Instructors and are sure they will be invaluable to the MRC"
The course was held in well-appointed and newly opened conference centre, ‘The Notch’, within the Urban Valley Complex in Kappara.
